Care and Washing

Many customers ask whether their wool jacket can be machine washed, which is a very natural and relevant question.

The fact is that wool fibers are coated with lanolin, which—together with the structure of the fibers—creates an environment where bacteria do not thrive. 🐑🐑

Fewer bacteria = less odor = less need for washing.

The best thing you can do for your wool jacket is to hang it outside in snow or frost to freshen it up.

Over time, you may experience some pilling (small fuzz balls), which is excess wool. The best way to handle this is to gently remove it by hand. Then place a thin cotton cloth or a tea towel over the jacket and steam it using an iron on the highest setting. The heat and steam will cause the wool fibers to contract, making the jacket look neat again.

If you’re someone who tends to rely on the washing machine, the jacket can be washed on a wool cycle (30°C). However, both the jacket and the environment will benefit more if you simply air it out instead. ♻️

As for drying, most people already know that wool and tumble drying are not a good combination!
